Intensive Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered problems to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets attacked energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes overnight. A minor died and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults succeed periods of air raids in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were bracing for more assaults.
